HSBC has joined the Series B financing round of enterprise blockchain technology Axoni, bringing the total amount raised to $36 million and total funding to date to $59 million. Axoni intends to use the money to improve its data synchronization technology, expand its suite of infrastructure products to support mission-critical deployments and broaden the network of enterprises leveraging distributed ledgers, according to a press statement.  In addition, Axoni says that the funding will be used to advance development of AxLang, the world’s first Ethereum-compatible smart contracting language to enable formal verification.

GoverMedia Plus Canada Corp. has entered into a non-binding letter of intent with European cryptocurrency exchange EXMO. The LOI provides GoverMedia with exclusivity in negotiating the transaction for a period of up to 180 days. Upon completion of the transaction, the combined entity will continue to carry on the business of EXMO.

IBM (NYSE: IBM) says that it has been selected by leading European companies to drive blockchain innovation in their industries. Telefónica and IBM are collaborating in the development of a proof of concept based on IBM blockchain technology to help solve the problem of the management of international mobile phone call traffic.  The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan and IBM are developing a digital identification system, while Finnish retail cooperative S-Group is testing their Pike-perch radar solution, based on IBM Blockchain technology, to improve customer experience. Meanwhile, PKO Bank Polski, the Central Securities Depository of Poland, and software developer Comgo.io are also working with IBM on blockchain projects.

Singapore-based Coinchase, the world’s leading blockchain crowdfunding platform, is launching No-Fee Consumer-to-Consumer Trading to enhance the liquidity of tokens that have been transacted on its platform. Before the tokens are listed on the exchange, users can trade them freely through Coinchase’s C2C Trading feature, according to the company.

SIMBA Chain has been selected to provide its cloud-based blockchain-as-a-service platform to the U.S. Air Force to improve the force’s logistics and supply chain capabilities. The Air Force, which has a highly complex logistics and supply chain network, will use SIMBA Chain to securely scale its additive manufacturing supply chain, according to a press statement issued by the company.
