Item 8.01 Other Events. On November 1, 2017, United Community Banks, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the completion of the merger on November 1, 2017, of Four Oaks Fincorp, Inc. (“Four Oaks”) with and into the Company and Four Oaks Bank & Trust Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Four Oaks, with and into United Community Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, to the terms and conditions of the Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated June 26, 2017, by and between Four Oaks and the Company. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
