Toyota Motor Corp (ADR) (NYSE:TM) has introduced a new FT-4X concept also known as Future Toyota – Four – Wheel Drive Crossover during the 2017 New York auto show.

The motive behind the new model

The FT-4X is designed to keep up with the millennial lifestyle. The concept dubbed as a four wheel drive Toolbox, has been developed by Calty design center based in California. It was designed with the Rugged Charm theme in mind.

The main motive behind its design is to cater for the spur of the moment trips including going out for dinner, a visit to the beach and even a tour o the countryside. The FT-4X is well equipped with a cold box, a warm box, sleeping bags, wet zones, door handles as water bottles, the lights as torches, the multimedia system can also be removed.

Details of the new model

The color of the color has coded storage as well as a multi function rear cargo area. The car has its flat roof reinforced to be able to withstand heavy items easily and the load can be easily tied down. The FT-4X also comes with a generous approach as well as departure angles to withstand all terrain types.

It is designed to accommodate small capacity four cylinder engine and a four wheel drive as well as a low level transmission.

The model is a result of inspiration from the instantaneous character of social media transition form liking a digital snapshot to taking the step of creating your own elsewhere. The new SUV model is capable of doing anything and also it can take you anywhere. Toyota has labeled it an urban 4-wheel drive concept CUV.

Calty president, Kevin Hunter, debuted the concept saying, “The Toyota FT-4X is not simply a concept where style meets function; it is a thoughtful, charming and engaging experience that adds real pleasure and convenience to the journey.” he added that the company is is focused on determining how a crossover vehicle can include fun and value to simple casual adventures within and outside the city.”

Toyota stock closed in at $104.18 after a fall $1.26 or 1.19%.
