Medtronic Plc Ordinary Shares (NYSE:MDT) To Incorporate Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ:GRMN) Activity Data Tracker Into MCMS

Medtronic Plc Ordinary Shares (NYSE:MDT) will integrate the Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ:GRMN)’s activity tracker data device straight into the Medtronic Care Management Services’ (MCMS) secluded patient examination podium.

Medtronic, a leading company in medical technology is the first to implement the new Garmin Health software development kit (SDK). The Garmin vivofit series activity data tracker is synced into the MCMS NetResponse mobile appliance to allow the medical staff to collaborate their efforts in managing and coordinating their patients’ conditions directly from home.

The MCMS’ Vice President and General Manager, Sheri Dodd confirmed that the new technology will make the remote patient monitoring and coordination activities possible and easy. The Garmin activity trackers have unique features and long lasting battery life that will enable them to enhance the monitoring and support of their patients from their homes easier and speedy.

The new technology will augment the healthcare and post-discharge recovery support care providers to provide the continuous best care need for patients especially those suffering from health terminal illnesses. With this platform, the clinicians are able to efficiently evaluate the patient health information and consider the untimely intervention and prevent unnecessary healthcare consumption.

The integration allows the Garmin activity tracker to be incorporated as a Bluetooth-connected peripheral device to be used with MCMS’ remote monitoring services. This combined effort of both the Garmin vivofit activity tracker devices and the Medtronic SDK will minimize the friction for patients whereby the Meditronic will utilize a sole interface to collect data from patients.

Garmin is elated to partner with Medtronic a company that leads in medical technology to offer world class services for patients especially those suffering from chronic diseases. The new technology will bring many benefits for the patients who are in serious state.

According to Dodd, the new technology will bring a unique integration into the medical industry to help improve the work of healthcare providers to closely monitor their patients remotely. This will help the company to manage and alleviate the chronic pain in patients, restoring their health and extending the life of many people around the world.

Garmin stock closed at $48.69, after declining $0.60 or 1.22% in last night trading session. Medtronic ended yesterday’s session at $80.01 after plunging $0.09 or 0.11%.
