After massive speculations of Nokia Oyj (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) readiness in bringing back the new version of Nokia 3310 handset, word has it that it will be released around the second quarter of this year. An additional report also states that other Android Smartphones the likes of Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will also accompany the release of the company’s 17-year-old iconic 3310 handset.

Speaking to the Times of India, President of HMD India, Ajey Mehta outlined that the new devices are likely to hit the Indian market early July. Malaysia, Russia, Europe, and the UK are also expected to be within the same release timeline as India. However, a report by NokiaPowerUser states that Nokia 3310 will be launched by mid-May, which means that it will hit the market earlier than the rest.

Options to rope in die-hard fans of Nokia

Nokia is a celebrated brand and there is market eagerness for its release and perhaps why the release seems to have been pushed to happen earlier than scheduled. The Russian market will be the first to get these handsets, by the end of April.

However, the release of the handsets will be accompanied by other tidings. The company says that it will be identifying ways of rewarding Nokia’s die-hard fans. Among those that have been mentioned include exchanging of old phones and offering of credit facilities.

The handsets will sport incredible features

Each of the different handsets will have independent features. In terms of display, the Nokia 3 will sport a 5-inch, while Nokia 5 will have a 5.2-inch. Nokia 6 will have the largest display of 5.5-inches. Both Nokia 3 and 5 will feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. However, they will MediaTek MTK 6737 processor and Snapdragon 430 processor respectively.

The Nokia 5 and 6 will be featuring a 3,000mAh battery package while that of Nokia 3 will be at 2,650mAh. Nonetheless, even with three Smartphones, Nokia says it is not done yet.

Mehta outlines, “In the next one year, we want to have phones across price points to be in alignment with our mission to have something for everybody.” In the meantime, Nokia’s stock was trading at $5.26 witnessing an increase of $0.04 or 0.77%.
