Nokia Oyj (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), Orange Jordan Target Supporting New Ultra-Broadband Services

The stock of Nokia Oyj (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) closed at $5.90 gaining 0.34% in yesterday’s trading session. This company together with Orange Jordan collaborated in a joint move to deploy the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network. It is expected to serve thousands of homes and business with triple-play services and ultra-broadband access.

Orange Jordan is looking forward to its quest to meet the surging demand for high-speed residential and commercial services. It is confident that it will succeed at delivering about 200 Mbps services which is enough to cover the demand.

Jordan is currently associated with a predominantly wireless-based broadband penetration. It is only a small section of the population that is able to access the internet via a fixed connection. In fact, the 2017 report concerning ICT in Jordan put the figure at five percent.

The passage of time is witnessing the demand for e-commerce, e-services, e-education services and e-health grow across the kingdom.

The Jordanian government is paying a major focus towards the enhancement of its fixed access infrastructure. That will help ensure the attainment of higher speed internet access over an expansive area. Orange Jordan was the first operator to unveil a FTTH service in 2016.At the moment, it is hoping to initiate as well as maintain digital transformation in the kingdom and to achieve this goal it will be counting on the application of its global expertise.

The Orange Group’s five-year corporate strategy has these ambitions at the center-stage. It is confident that it will succeed in connecting people to everything that is essential to them.

Jérôme Hénique, the CEO of Orange Jordan opined, “We needed to quickly deploy a FTTH network. Nokia’s credibility along with its innovations and expertise in fiber technology were strongly considered during the selection process for the current phase of technical deployment.”

He went ahead to state that the company has made great steps forward considering that at the moment it has enabled Fiber connectivity for more than 30,000 homes. Whatever the company achieves from its various moves is something that we will just have to wait and see.
