On December 17, 2018, the Company issued a press release entitled “Newtek Business Services Corp. Announces Stock Repurchase Program” (the “Press Release”) announcing that its board of directors approved a repurchase program under which the Company may repurchase up to 300,000 shares of the Company’s common stock, par value $0.02 per share, through open market purchases, including block purchases, in such manner as will comply with the provisions of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended. Unless extended or terminated by its board of directors, the Company expects the termination date for the repurchase plan will be on June 18, 2019. A copy of the Press Release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
