Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) Highlights The Best 4K TV For Viewing Its Content

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) has recommended the LG 4K TV as the best TV set for its Recommend TV feature.

The LG 4K TV emerged on top of the list which the content streaming company released for the second year of its Recommend feature. This time, the firm picked TV sets from LG and Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE). Netflix created the Recommend program to help consumers decide which television set will give them the best Netflix updated and quick viewing experience.

The recommendation considers whether the TVs have the latest software from Netflix, how fast the app launches and how fast the apps resume. It even considered whether the remote controller has a dedicated Netflix button. Netflix also evaluated how fast the companies promoted the streaming platform

LG has a range of TV sets that include OLED TVs running on WebOS 3.0, UHD TVs and Super UHD TVs. Some of the LG television sets that were on the list include 4K OLED TVs (models E6 and C6), UHD TVs (models UH7500, UH6500, UH6300, and UH6100), and the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV (G6). Apart from offering 4K displays, the TV sets also feature the ability to render content HDR picture quality and are compatible with Dolby Vision HDR and HDR 10 formats.

LG’s president and CEO Brian Kwon stated that the company was excited because Netflix acknowledges its smart TVs for its Netflix Recommend Program for the second year in a row. He also stated that customers have more preference for LG 4k smart TVs especially now that Netflix 4K HDR content is available on a global scale.

The list of 4K TVs that Netflix recommended also includes a few TV models from Sony and this year Samsung did not make the cut because it claims that it did not want to participate this year. A spokesperson from Netflix stated that Samsung TVs were not included because they were late to enter the retail market. Last year Samsung TV sets were criticized because they were slower than their rivals from Sony or LG.
