Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) To Launch Xbox One Slim In Upcoming 2016 E3 Conference

The wait is almost over for Xbox fans following new rumors that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) plans to debut the Xbox One Slim during this year’s E3 conference.

Sources suggest that the device will be launched during the event which will take place in June. The updated Microsoft gaming console is expected to feature a new controller just like the original Xbox One. Gamers speculate that the Xbox One Slim could be the new console that was featured in the Xbox leak in February. Most manufacturers and developers use the E3 conference as a platform to launch their products, and it goes without saying that Microsoft will most likely use the event to launch the new device.

Rumors yet to be confirmed

Neither the website’s sources nor the reports have pointed out a specific model or console, thus leaving more speculation about the situation. This means there is a chance of a new kind of console. Microsoft has also been working on interaction capabilities between the Xbox One and PC. The company released updates that allow the two gaming devices to run on the Windows 10 OS making it possible for cross play between the Xbox One and PC.

The possibility of Microsoft announcing two gaming rigs at the E3 conference has also not been dismissed. Rival firm Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) is also expected to release the PlayStation 4.5 which is the company’s console update with 4K capacity. The three-day event will commence on June 14 and end on June 16. Microsoft will feature three shows with one on each day. During the event, the company is expected to reveal new games for the Xbox One and PC.

The event will be streamed live, and those who wish to follow up can do so on Xbox’s website or on Spike TV. The first stream will air from Midday to 4 PM Pacific Time, and the second event will commence on Wednesday. The final stream will take place on Thursday.
