It has been emerged that Quik, a video editing app developed by GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) for mobile devices, will come preloaded on one of Huawei’s latest smartphones, Honor 8 Pro. On this latest device from Huawei, Quik will serve as the default video editing solution. This follows a partnership that had previously between announced between GoPro and Honor.
“We are thrilled to be furthering our partnership with Honor, an international leader in the smartphone industry,” CJ Prober, the Chief Operating Officer of GoPro, said.
Stunning multimedia experiences
In the Honor range of smartphones, Honor 8 Pro has impressed the most with its stunning multimedia features and integration of its photo gallery with the Quik App will be seamless. Some of the features that make Honor 8 Pro perfect for multimedia experiences include a 5.7 inch high definition display and a resolution of 515 ppi. The color gamut almost achieves cinematic standards while the 4,000 mAh battery is decent enough.
Honor 8 Pro’s photo gallery makes use of a new feature known as ‘Highlights’ which has an automatic way of selecting videos and photos for the user. And just by tapping a button, it is possible for the Quik app to generate a video that synchronizes with the selected music’s beat. Users can then either choose to share the particular video or even customize it further with effects, transitions and additional filters.
GoPro Camera
With GoPro it is possible to capture immersive, unique and hands-free perspectives which would be difficult to accomplish with a mobile device or which would place the user or their device at risk. And from the GoPro camera, users can then move the videos and photos to the photo gallery of the Honor 8 in order to edit using the Quik app.
Some of the launch privileges that will be accorded to fans of the Honor 8 Pro include a gift set consisting of a selfie stick, a battery pack and an SD card of 128 GB. This will be in select countries such as Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK.
On Thursday shares of GoPro Inc rose by 0.95% to close the day at $8.51.
