Extreme Networks, Inc (NASDAQ:EXTR) To Close Its Avaya Networking Acquisition On July 14

Extreme Networks, Inc (NASDAQ:EXTR) has announced that it expects to complete the acquisition of Avaya Networking on at the end of the week on July 14.

Extreme Networks revealed that all the conditions pertaining the acquisition of Avaya Networking have been met and that the deal is expected to be finalized on Friday. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Extreme Networks’ portfolio. It is also expected to make the company the only networking provider that deals exclusively on offering solutions straight from the data center to the wireless edge. The company believes that the acquisition will offer significant contributions to earnings and cash flow in the 2018 fiscal year. Extreme anticipates more than $200 million in revenue from Avaya.

“We are excited to clear this final milestone on the path to acquiring the Avaya Networking business,” stated Ed Meyercord, the CEO and president of Extreme Networks.

Extreme Networks to boost hospitality Wi-Fi exprience

Meyercord also pointed out that Avaya Networking’s team customers and technology will offer great value to his company. Other than the acquisition, the firm promised new hope for the hospitality Wi-Fi experience through the launch of the ExtremeWireless™ WiNG AP 7612 at the HITEC 2017. The launch involved the company’s next generation WiNG solution which was designed to cater to specific requirements of the hospitality industry.

Extreme Networks launched the product at the HITEC conference in June. The conference is considered the most significant hospitality conference in Toronto, thus providing a great exposure opportunity for the company. The WiNG AP 7612 provides the latest product that offers application quality service, faster installation and has hotel grade aesthetics.

The product integrates QoS and network application visibility analytics into the AP as part of the company’s end-to-end wireless solution. This makes it possible to manage bandwidth depending on the requirements of the guest application. The idea is to make sure that low priority applications do not disrupt the user’s experience. Extreme Networks believes that the new product will perform exceptionally in the market, and it hopes that it will be quite appealing to the market.

Extreme Networks closed the latest trading session on Tuesday at $9.46.
