Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has announced the launch of its new prime services that focuses purely on business customers.

The online retail giant unveiled the new service on Tuesday, to allow businesses and companies to take advantage of its Prime service. The new feature will make it possible for business entities to carry out free 2-day shipping of various products. Amazon Prime has been available for a while but it has maintained its focus on individuals.

Businesses and companies can now subscribe to the company’s business membership service in order to gain access to Business Prime Shipping. This service will provide businesses with access to shipping for supplies such as office equipment. It will also allow them to keep track of their shipments. The new business service is available in Germany and the U.S though it will most likely be expanded to other regions soon.

Companies and businesses that sign up with 10 employees will be require to pay an annual subscription fee of $499 to enjoy the services. Those that want to subscribe with 100 employees will pay $1,299 while those that want to get on board the service with more than 100 employees will have to pay $10,099 annually.

“Business Prime Shipping combines the wide selection of products available to Amazon Business customers, with the speed and convenience that customers have come to know and love from Amazon Prime,” stated Greg Greeley, the President of Amazon Prime.

Greeley also added that Amazon is excited to launch the new program which is designed to cater to business and corporate customers. Amazon’s business VP, Prentis Wilson stated that the Business Prime Shipping service will allow businesses with multiple customers to take advantage of the simplified procurement procedures that Amazon offers.

The company also hopes that this will help earn more credibility and generate more revenue through the service while making shipping easier for businesses. the move is also expected to help Amazon to stay on top of the competition and even venture into territories that belong to the likes of Office Depot Inc (NASDAQ:ODP).

Amazon stock closed the latest trading session on Wednesday at $972.91.
