The stock BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) closed at $11.12 losing 1.94% in yesterday’s trading session. This company has come together with Tokyo Electron Device Limited to strike a sales and distribution agreement. This agreement provided that the Japanese device manufacturers be given full access to QNX Software Development Platform (SDP) 7.0 belonging to BlackBerry. This happens to be one of the most advanced and at the same time the most secure embedded platforms found in the market.
Over the years, TED has remained fully committed to the provision of top business solutions and semiconductor products. Asides from that, it has also been supporting customers’ system design.
One of the things that TED stands to gain from the deal is that it will develop to become a more advanced platform. It will be a platform characterized with better data security requirements, more reliability and high performance. BlackBerry’s embedded technologies are crucial in the designing and development of mission-critical solutions that are secure and at the same time crucial towards the achievement of business success.
TED’s spokesperson opined, “The QNX SDP 7.0 is a 64-bit OS (Operating System) built on the reliable QNX technology and provides better security and performance in medical devices, surgical robots, industrial controllers, high-speed trains, plus other safety and mission-critical applications.”
The Telecom Science and Technology Company of Yangzhou on the same day struck a secure licensing deal with BlackBerry. NTD focuses on the development of IoT (Internet of Things) devices as well as in the manufacture of smartphones.
The multi-dimensional licensing deal stipulates that NTD will have to conform to the guideline of coming up with devices branded by OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer), local smartphone brands and carriers.
If matters move according to plan, the manufactured devices are expected to be marketed under the name BlackBerry Secure. That has got much to do with the provider’s software usage. An all-touch smartphone, which is the first product emanating from the new partnership will most probably be shipped from next year.
