TEGNA Inc. (the “Company”) files this Current Report on Form 8-K/A (“Current Report”) to amend and supplement the Company’s Current Report on Form 8-K dated December12, 2017 (the “Prior Report”) and filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by the Company on December15, 2017. The Prior Report announced the election of Melinda C. Witmer to the Company’s board of directors. At the time of the Prior Report, the Company’s board of directors had not determined on which committee Ms.Witmer would serve.

The Company files this Current Report to disclose that the Company’s board of directors has appointed Ms.Witmer to the Executive Compensation Committee, effective immediately following the conclusion of the Company’s annual meeting of shareholders on April26, 2018, and to the Government Policy and Regulation Committee, effective immediately.
