Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is expected to launch the Surface Pro 5 in the second half of 2017. Here are the top rumors swirling about the successor to Surface Pro 4.
Display
The Surface Pro 5 is said to have a lightweight aluminum body with a 12.3-inch display.
The tablet PC is expected to come with a 4K display. Multiple sources claim that the device will have a UHD screen with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels or 3,840 x 2,560 pixels.
Processor and Storage
The Surface Pro 5 might come with Intel Kaby Lake Core i7 processor. This energy-efficient chipset will improve the overall performance of the machine.
The Pro 5 is expected to come with a 16GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Rechargeable Surface Pen
The Surface Pro 5 is said to feature a rechargeable Surface Pen.
According to a new patent spotted by Patently Mobile last year, Microsoft is working on a rechargeable stylus.
The latest model of the Surface Pen features a top-mounted eraser, a customizable magic button, and the ability to launch Cortana remotely.
Surface Dial
The successor to Surface Pro 4 might come with the Surface Dial, suggested a report from The Christian Post.
The Dial could be placed on the screen, allowing users to access shortcuts and controls – volume for music apps – as well as other menus and tools.
The Dial is “a completely new way to interact with technology that allows users to store, customize, access, navigate, and reimagine physical tools in the digital world from concept to creation,” Microsoft said last year on the launch of the Surface Studio.
