Sprint Corp (NYSE:S) Accepting Pre-orders For $700 Essential Phone

Sprint Corp (NYSE:S) is accepting pre-orders for the much awaited Essential Phone developed by Essential Products. The wireless company is the exclusive carrier of the $700 smartphone though it can also be bought directly from Essential Products and Best Buy in unlocked form.

Essential Phone Pre-Orders

Customers can lease Essential Phone and have the option to upgrade or purchase later, through the carriers Sprint Flex Lease program. The advantage of buying from Sprint is that one does not have to pay the full amount at once. Customers will be able to buy the phone at half the price in addition to monthly installments of $14.5 spread over one and half years.

Sprint is currently accepting pre-orders for the black model only. However, the company is promising more colors at a future date. Essential has already started to send out notifications to customers who had made pre-orders. Registered users have started to receive emails informing them that they need to supply their payment information’s so that, shipment can begin in seven days.

Essential Phone Features

Developed using titanium and ceramic material, Essential Phone comes with an edge to edge full display. A high-end color and monochrome dual system camera able to capture stunning images is also on offer. The phone will come with two years of Android software updates as well as three security patches.

Essential Phone is Android powered and will work on all the major U.S carriers. The phone features a standard 128 GB internal storage. The smartphone supports external accessories such as a 360-degree camera in addition to having its own camera. Essential smartphone also features a three channel carrier aggregation that can guarantee peak download speeds of more than 300Mbps.

Essential Products is marketing its first flagship product as a personal device made from premium material able to operate in an open ecosystem.

Shares of Apple were down by 1.92% in Thursday’s trading session to end the day at $157.86 a share.
