On October 12, 2017, at an analyst and investor presentation, Daryl Adams, CEO of Spartan Motors, Inc. (the “Company”), announced the award to the Company of a $214 million contract from the United States Postal Service to supply delivery vehicles. The vehicles will be produced during 2018 and 2019. Daryl Adams also announced that the Company’s Emergency Response Vehicles (ER) segment will be profitable on a GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) basis for the third and fourth quarters of 2017. The Company had previously said that the ER segment will be profitable on an adjusted EBITDA basis for fiscal year 2017.
