Election of Director

On January 18, 2018, the Board of Directors ("Board") of PPL Corporation ("PPL" or the "Company") elected Phoebe A. Wood a director of the Company for a term expiring at the Company's Annual Meeting of Shareowners in May 2018.

Ms. Wood is Principal of CompaniesWood, a consulting firm specializing in early stage investments, a position she has held since 2008. She is the former Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of Brown-Forman Corporation, a diversified consumer products manufacturer, a position she held from 2006 to 2008. Prior to this, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2001 to 2006. Before joining Brown-Forman Corporation, Ms. Wood served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and a director, of Propel Corporation, a telecom subsidiary of Motorola, Inc., from 2000 to 2001. Previously, Ms. Wood served in various financial management capacities during her almost 24-year tenure at Atlantic Richfield Company (now BP). Ms. Wood serves on the boards of Invesco Ltd., Leggett & Platt, Incorporated, and Pioneer Natural Resources Company. Ms. Wood will serve as a member of the Board's Compensation, Governance and Nominating Committee.The Board has determined that Ms. Wood satisfies the requirements for "independence" as set forth in the Company's Independence Guidelines and the applicable rules of the New York Stock Exchange.

As a non-employee director, Ms. Wood will receive the same compensation paid to other non-employee directors of PPL in accordance with the policies and procedures previously approved by the Board for non-employee directors.There were no arrangements or understandings to which Ms. Wood was elected, nor are there any relationships or related transactions between the Company and Ms. Wood to be disclosed under applicable rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
