Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) To Release Creators Update on April 11

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that it will begin rolling out the Windows 10 Creators Update to customers around the world on April 11 as a free update.

The Creators Update is designed “to spark and unleash creativity,” the software giant said in a statement. The Update will include new features including a 3D app, mixed reality, Microsoft Edge, extra security capabilities, and privacy tools.

According to the Redmond-based tech giant, the Windows 10 is designed to “empower the creator in all of us.”

“And we want Windows to be the place you love to create and play, with the tools to help you make your mark in the world,” the company said in a blog.

The Creators Update will include the new Paint 3D app to create 3D objects from scratch, easily changing colors, stamping textures, or turning a 2D picture into a 3D work of art.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) said that Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will ship the world’s first Windows Mixed Reality-enabled headsets with the Creators Update later this year. These headsets will contain built-in sensors to enable inside-out, six-degrees of freedom.

The Windows 10 Game Mode will offer “the best and most consistent gaming experience” on a Windows 10 PC, Microsoft said.

In addition, the Creators Update will include an improved version of Edge. It will have new features like advanced tab management to help users find, organize and open tabs.

“People are choosing Edge because it is safer and faster than Chrome, with better battery life,” Microsoft said.

How Will Microsoft Roll Out Creators Update

The Creators Update will begin to roll out on April 11, and it will proceed in phases, according to the company.

The first phase will target newer devices, and then the Creators Update will come to additional devices.

“We’ll iterate this process over a period of several months until all compatible devices running Windows 10 worldwide are offered the Creators Update,” the company said.

The company said that it will allow users to manually download the Creators Update on April 5 via Update Assistant.

Shares of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) closed up 0.26% on Friday. The stock is up nearly 6% so far this year.
