Will Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Launch Surface Pro 5 on May 23 in China?

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is holding its second event this month in China. The tech titan is expected to unveil a new device under its Surface brand at the hardware event on May 23 in Shanghai. Many tech experts believe that that new device would be the Surface Pro 5.

Panos Panay, Microsoft’s vice president of devices and the creator of the Surface, announced the event on Twitter with the hashtag “#Surface.” Panay’s planned presence at the event and the tag could mean that the company “is ready to show off the Surface Pro 5,” The Verge reported.

There is a strong possibility for the Surface Pro 5’s launch at the Shanghai event. Some reports are claiming that the event will also see the Surface Phone. But the debut of the Surface Phone is highly unlikely.

Earlier this month, Microsoft held an event in New York City where the company launched Windows 10 S and introduced the Surface Laptop for students.

No official details are available regarding the Surface Pro 5 at this time. But the Internet has been buzzing with rumors of the tablet PC. In this post, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the successor to Surface Pro 4.

The device is expected to have a lightweight aluminum body with a 12.3-inch 4K display.

It would feature Intel Kaby Lake Core i7 processor that is designed to enhance the overall performance of a machine and consumes less power.

The Pro 5 is said to come with a 16GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It might feature a rechargeable Surface Pen.

Rumors suggest that the Surface Pro 5 is coming with the Surface Dial. In the tablet PC, the Dial could be placed on the screen, allowing users to access shortcuts and controls – volume for music apps – as well as other menus and tools. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) originally introduced the Dial with its Surface Studio all-in-computer last year.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is expected offer the Surface Pro 5 at $900.

Meanwhile, shares of Microsoft closed up 0.28% on Friday. The stock is up over 11% year-to-date.
