Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is said to be building smartphone under its Surface Phone that that “may not look like phones that are there today.” According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the software giant is looking at different forms of mobile devices. Some tech experts believe that the company will unveil the Surface Phone along with the Xbox Project Scorpio in Holiday 2017. But Microsoft remains tight-lipped about the purported smartphone.

The rumors mill suggests that the Phone would target business and corporate users and could replace your personal computer. The Phone is likely to be a strong competitor for the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S8, and Google Pixel.

The Surface Phone line is expected to include three different models. There would be a consumer model, a business phone, and a special edition handset.

The Phone is said to feature a 5.5 AMOLED display with a 1440×2560 pixel Quad-HD resolution, suggests a report from PC Advisor. The premium handset is likely to come with a 4GB of RAM with 64- or 128GB of storage.

According to rumors, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is planning to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset in the Phone.

The Surface Phone could sport a 21 megapixel (MP) rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens. On the front side, it might have an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calling.

The new Windows phone is expected to feature a stylish pen and a keyboard to allow professional more productive.

In addition, the Phone could come with a unique fingerprint built into the screen. It is also expected to feature the headphone jack, a 3.5mm audio jack and a Type-C USB port at the bottom.

Microsoft Surface Phone Price and Release Date

The lower-end model of the Surface Phone is expected to carry a price tag of $700. The higher-end model would be offered at $1,100.

As far as the launch date is concerned, rumors suggest that the Phone will arrive in the fourth quarter of 2017. But we think it is highly unlikely. We believe that the Phone will make debut in the first quarter of 2018.
