Infinera Corp. (NASDAQ:INFN) Announces Intelligent Transport Networks Available To US Government Agencies

Infinera Corp. (NASDAQ:INFN) has announced that its Intelligent Transport Networks can now be accessed by all the agencies of the US Federal government.

The company revealed that its complete portfolio which consists of optical transport networking equipment, as well as services, are currently available to all the Federal government agencies in the US. Infinera’s range of products and services will be available to these agencies through Air Force Network-Centric Solutions-2 (NETCENTS-2), NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement V (SEWP V), and General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 70.

“All federal agencies now have access to Infinera’s Intelligent Transport Networks. Thanks to support from immixGroup, we are making it easier to bring scalable and reconfigurable bandwidth and network efficiency to the government sector,” stated Wray Varley, Infinera’s VP of Government Sales.

The Federal government estimates that it will spend $86 billion on information technology services in 2018. It relies on the NETCENTS-2, SEWP V and GSA Schedule to procure the optical transport solutions. The GSA Schedules are often used by many state agencies to determine contract terms and negotiate prices in a bid to make sure that there is a smooth flow in the purchasing process.

Infinera works hand in hand with immixGroup which is currently the largest added-value enterprise hardware and software products distributor. The firm distributes these products to U.S agencies, systems integrators and solution providers in the public sector. Roger Baker, an Infinera government advisory board member stated that the company offers and end-to-end portfolio of packet-optical solutions to network operators as a vertically integrated equipment supplier that is based in the U.S.

Baker also pointed out that the widespread availability of the company’s Intelligent Transport Network will be in a better position to support government agencies to achieve vital needs. Infinera’s Government Advisory Board was created in 2016 to offer an expert look at specific government needs. It also offers insights on how best to respond to these needs and as well as how the company can thrive in the sector.

Infinera stock closed the latest trading session on Thursday at $8.66 after a 1.17 percent gain from the value of the stock during the previous close.
