Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is already attracting players through Messenger bots. The famous flower company, 1-800-Flowers.Com Inc (NASDAQ:FLWS) and an Indian medical app called Lybrate are the latest to take advantage of the bots revolution.

1-800 Flowers recently revealed a Messenger bot that allows users to make an order that takes less than five minutes. The app, Librate, launched by an Indian startup has created a Messenger bot that will allow users to connect with more than 100,000 doctors on the platform.

The messenger bots aim to smoothen communication and service delivery

Facebook aims to use bots to reach the many users on the Messenger platform while at the same time attracting more businesses to the platform. The delivery company believes that using bots will allow the firm to reduce labor costs and increase its margins. The company stated that the decision to invest in the bot was a good one because there has been good growth so far and more is expected in the future. The firm also believes that chat bots are the future of modern technology, and they will be widely applied in areas such as monetary payments and ticket bookings.

Lybrate also has similar objectives geared towards better services through Messenger. The company believes that the bot, recently launched, will bring more convenience to patients. India has roughly 840,000 registered doctors meaning there is about one physician for every 1,400 people. This makes it hard for patients to access medical attention. Lybrate aims to eliminate this problem through the platform which aims to bring patients closer to doctors. Nevertheless, there are still some bumps ahead because the use of bots to offer medical attention means there will be limited liability.

Despite the liability issues, bot service is a brilliant idea because it will help thousands of people to gain easy access to services that would be difficult to obtain. The launch of bots for Messenger is such a big move that TechCrunch described it as the next big thing after the launch of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) App Store.
