Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE:HPE) Picked As Tottenham Hotspur Football Club IT Infrastructure Partner

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE:HPE) has been selected as the official partner of the football club Tottenham Hotspur for wireless and networking infrastructure. The Spurs, as the football club is popularly known, are at the moment constructing a new stadium in White Hart Lane, London which is set to be opened next year. During the upcoming 2017/18 season Spurs will use the Wembley Stadium as their home ground.

The new stadium, which will be a highly technologically-advanced stadium, will have a capacity of 61,559. It will not be exclusively used for football as it will also host entertainment events including concerts and National Football League games.

Networking solutions

In order to meet the current and future demands of technology Aruba networking solutions are being used by the football club. Pointnext, another Hewlett Packard Enterprise services organization, is also providing support.

Financing agreement

To fund the construction of the new stadium, Spurs recently entered into a financing deal with 3 American banks. Tottenham Hotspur Football Club was founded in 1882 and currently enjoys a global support base of more than 400 million. A majority of the fans are in the United Kingdom and the United States. Others are in Southern Africa, Asia and China. Worldwide, Spurs has official supporter clubs numbering over 100.

The selection of HPE as the official IT infrastructure partner of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club coincides with the Palo Alto, California-based technology company launching the latest ABR Suite – Adaptive Backup and Recovery. This is a product that is designed to assist customers in reducing downtime, lowering costs and securing the digital environments. For data protection the portfolio consists of VM Explorer, HPE Storage Optimizer, HPE Backup Navigator and HPE Data Protector.

On Tuesday shares of HPE rose by 0.21% to close the day at $16.78.
