Google is expected to launch the second version of its Pixel smartphone this year. Rick Osterloh, who leads Google’s hardware division, has confirmed rumors that the second-generation Pixel is coming this year. Without providing any information regarding the handset and its release date, Osterloh told Android Pit that “you can count on a successor this year.”
According to the rumors mill, the Pixel 2 would be a powerful smartphone featuring a Snapdragon 835 chipset, an upgraded camera technology, and a waterproof design.

Reports suggest that Google is testing three phones – the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and a larger device code named Taimen.
The second iteration of the Pixel phone said to receive a curved OLED display. According to a report from Yonhap News Agency, the internet giant could source flexible OLED screens from LG Display.
Google is reportedly planning to improve the camera technology in its second-generation device. A report from 9to5 Google suggests that the company wants to master low light photography. The sources told the search engine giant that the Pixel 2’s camera will “not have large MP size,” but will rather “compensate in extra features.”
We might see Intel’s Snapdragon 835 chipset in the second update of the Pixel 2. According to rumors, Google could build its own custom chipset for the upcoming Pixel phones.
The Google Pixel 2 is rumored to feature IP 67 and IP 68 waterproof certifications. The smartphone will be able to submerge in water depths of under 1 meter to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
The Pixel 2 will run Android O, the latest version of the company’s mobile operating system, Android.

The Google Pixel 2 is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2017. The devices could be launched in October.
According to Stephan Hall at 9to5Google, the Pixel 2 is expected to get a price increase of at least $50. So, we expect that the 32GB Pixel 2 at $700, 128GB at $800 and the 32GB Pixel XL at $820 and 128GB at $920.
