Folium Biosciences, which touts itself as the largest vertically-integrated producer, manufacturer, and distributor of hemp derived phytocannabinoids in the U.S., has unveiled its international expansion plans.
The company said that it selected Southwest Alberta’s Medicine Hat site to build its first international facility.
“We have secured acres of land to build our 100K square foot state-of-the-art Health Canada approved vertically integrated hemp extraction and purification facility,” Folium Biosciences CEO Kashif Shan said in a press statement.
Folium is a certified producer of 0.0% THC products. The company has a manufacturing site in southern Colorado which supports processing, extraction, and purification operations.
In other Folium news, Australis Capital (CSE: AUSA) last month announced a $3 million investment in in Folium.
“Our strategic investment in Folium Biosciences provides Australis and our brands access to the leading player in the fast-evolving United States CBD market,” Australis CEO Scott Dowty said in a statement. “Folium’s breadth of expertise, spanning production, extraction, branding and commercialization, will greatly benefit Australis as we introduce and expand our CBD product offerings in the United States in the months and years ahead.”
