Whether or not it was a calculated move Nokia Corp’s (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) come back into the smartphone has begun yielding fruits.  The latest news indicates that its newest handset, Nokia 6, which was revealed earlier this month sold like a hot cake. The initial stock sold out in just a minute in the Chinese e-commerce portal JD.com.  It may not be clear yet how many pieces were available for purchase but the device, which is the first to dot the Finnish giant’s name, has gained tremendous popularity in China.

Apparently, it is only available in the Chinese market but since January 4 it has garnered over one million registrations.  It went up for sale on January 19 and more than 250,000 buyers have already shown interest in it.
