CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) released recent survey results yesterday whose findings revealed that two out of three Americans are convinced that getting a flu shot is the best flu preventative measure.
The recent CVS Health study which was carried out this year marks a 2 percent increase compared to the results of a previous study carried out last year. The study suggests that 67 percent of the individuals that are accustomed to getting a flu shot every year also plan to get one this year. The study also concluded that they do this because they are convinced that a flu vaccine is the best preventative measure against the flu.
The study was carried out via an online poll in July by Research Company Harris Pollon behalf of CVS Health. The study also involved more than 2,000 adult participants in the U.S. Roughly 65 percent of the participants also stated that they would still go to work even if they exhibited flu-like symptoms.
“We recognize that staying on top of your health can sometimes be daunting, especially for busy families, and flu vaccinations are no exception to this,”stated Papatya Tankut, the VP of pharmacy affairs at CVS Health.
Tankuk further added that the recent survey also highlights an increasing number of factors that contribute to people’s decision about when, where and how to receive the vaccination. CVS Health has been using these factors to make it easier and quicker for patients to access healthcare.
The study also revealed that there has been a 7 percent increase in the number of people getting flu vaccines this year compared to last year. Most of them usually receive the vaccine at their workplaces. However, vaccines are readily available every day of the week at CVS Health outlets as well as MinuteClinic locations distributed all over the U.S. MinuteClinic also provides flu shots for adolescents and children above 18 months. Despite flu shots being go-to for most Americans, a significant part of the population also employs other preventive measures.
