CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) Launches Talent Connect Center At Fort Bragg

CVS Health Corp (NYSE:CVS) has launched a Talent Connect Center aimed at serving the military community in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The purpose of the facility is to assist military veterans as well as their families in transitioning from a life in the barracks to a civilian one where they hold careers in the private sector.

The facility will be part of the Fort Bragg Career Resource Center which serves to offer skills for military personnel who are leaving active duty besides connecting them with firms which can offer them employment. At the Talent Connect Center there is use of both hands-on support and virtual reality technology to assist veterans as well as their spouses with polishing their resumes and their interview skills.

Wide range of opportunities

Veterans are also offered an opportunity of chatting of various departmental heads with a view to learning of the various opportunities existing within a firm. CVS Health will be joining 20 other firms which also have training centers at the facility.

“By 2020 the health care industry will need a projected 5.6 million highly-skilled workers, like our veterans, necessary to compete and grow and there is no reason why we can’t ‘connect’ the two,” the Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President of CVS Health, Lisa Bisaccia, said.

According to Bisaccia, at the Talent Connect Center, military veterans will be taken through the various opportunities that exist at CVS Health in various departments include nursing, information technology, distribution and retail. This will

Video conferencing technology will be used in serving and reaching the military as well as CVS Health personnel located beyond Fort Bragg to provide skills logistics, retail and management under the ACSP program. The program allows military personnel who have been in active duty to train a career field of their choice within six months of leaving the military.

With a long history of recruiting and training military veterans, the pharmaceutical retailer has hired close to 8,000 veterans and 2,300 spouses of veterans since 2015.

On Thursday shares of CVS Health Corp rose by 0.35% to close the day at $77.16.
