Cardano’s (ADA) Team May Soon Unveil Another Product

IOHK, the team behind the development of Cardano (ADA) and Cardano CEO Charles Hoskinson, have been issuing a number of surprise announcements and updates regarding the project. The project was scheduled for launch on August 15. Cardano (ADA) is currently the ninth cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

IOHK’s recent projects

A few months ago, IOHK launched two projects. The first was Icarus – a reference project designed to be launched by the company’s partners, and Prometheus, which was recently announced publicly. Icarus is a Google Chrome extension and can be ported to other browsers like Mozilla Firefox, as well as mobile apps.

Icarus is an independent wallet that runs on Google Chrome. Although the wallet is not a complete blockchain, it can accomplish many of the functions that can be done by a full blockchain, though with some limitations. The wallet functions like Daedalus, a digital currency designed to hold as well as move ADA between different wallets.

Hoskinson indicated that it is possible to merge Daedalus and Icarus and later separate them in a matter of minutes. The wallet is made in such a way that it works like a light wallet because one does not need to install the whole blockchain to use it.

In addition, the CEO revealed that they will soon open the blockchain project to third parties for contributions. The agenda is to develop a platform that is powered by the community so as to achieve its goals through an open-source strategy.

Without giving further details, Hoskinson said the platform will soon be open to the public to issue tokens on Cardano blockchain. He added that they will put in place a user-friendly framework, which will facilitate issuers of assets when seeking listing on the platform to access a stable wallet.
