BroadSoft Inc (NASDAQ:BSFT) has announced a collaboration with AIS, the largest mobile operator in Thailand. They will work together to provide unified communications to enterprise customers.
The two companies jointly announced the launch of the AIS Business Cloud UC which is a unified communications (UC) and cloud PBX. The launch of the services has been carried out based on the BroadSoft Business UC-One® application. Thai business users will benefit from edge cloud services provided by the AIS Business Cloud service. This includes a suite of secure UC services that include team collaboration tools, instant messaging and presence (IM&P), video conferencing and voice services.
“As Thailand’s leading communications company, with our entry into the unified communications market for our corporate clients, it was essential that we brought a world leading solution to meet our customer’s cloud communication requirements,” stated Weerachai Patcharopartwong, the senior VP of Enterprise Marketing and Sales at AIS.
The senior VP also pointed out that the partnership with BroadSoft has provided the telecommunications provider with a compelling and comprehensive solution for its clients. The solution will allow enterprise customers to take advantage of the powerful collaboration tools, flexibility, security and speed of the UC platform which is quite impressive compared to the legacy systems.
Jonathan Reid, BroadSoft’s Managing Director for the Asia Pacific and Emerging Markets also had some positive things to say about the partnership. Reid stated that his company was pleased to be working together with the AIS team towards rolling out the AIS business cloud service in the country. The MD also pointed out that BroadSoft is confident that the solutions will provide a significant impact on Thailand’s UC market. The cloud business software firm also hopes that there will be a continued partnership with AIS over in the future as the cloud services continue to expand and evolve.
AIS currently boasts 40 million customers in Thailand and it is currently the third largest mobile operator in the country. It thus commands a significant market share of various aspects including data communications, corporate voice, and broadband.
BroadSoft stock closed the latest trading session on Monday at $54.80.
