Bozoma Saint John Said To Be Leaving Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Music

Reports indicate that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Music’s global consumer marketing head, Bozoma Saint John, is exiting the Cupertino, California-based tech giant. Before she joined Apple, Saint John worked at PepsiCo as the music and entertainment marketing head. She joined Apple once Beats was acquired by the iPhone maker.

During her tenure at Apple Music, the music streaming unit of Apple was able to make significant strides against rivals such as Pandora and Spotify. Last year in December, Apple Music boasted paying subscribers numbering approximately 20 million. It had initially started the year with 9 million subscribers. However, the number was still below Spotify’s subscriber base.

Saint John’s exit from Apple Music comes barely a week after Apple announced that its Carpool Karaoke series will finally be launched on August 8. This will be four months late as it had been expected that the series which is based on The Late Late Show with James Corden and which airs on CBS would be released on August 8.

The launch date was announced in a tweet by the internet software and services senior vice president at Apple, Eddy Cue. The series which will only be accessed by Apple Music subscribers will feature paired celebrities in a singalong such as Billy Eichner and Metallica, Alicia Keys and John Legend, Miley Cyrus and her family members include her dad Billy Ray Cyrus.

James Corden will also appear in some episodes alongside Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star LeBron James and actor Will Smith. A trailer that has already been released features Will Smith and Corden singing along to an R. Kelly song while aboard a chopper.

On Friday shares of Apple Inc rose by 1.48% to close the day at $155.45.
