A new leak concerning the new MacBook Pro from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reveals that the device might include an OLED toolbar instead of the regular function keys.
The company leaked the images a few days before the official launch of the new MacBook Pro which will take place on October 27. According to a report by MacRumors, the leaked images clearly reveal an OLED touch bar right above the keyboard where the function keys are located in previous versions of the device. This means that the OLED panel will most likely replace the function keys. The new changes will also include Touch ID support which will support Apple Pay, thus making online shopping a better experience.
The leaked 2016 MacBook Pro images were found in the Apple Pay files released as part of the MacOS Sierra update that was released on Monday. The leak did not reveal further information about the new device. However, critics expect the device to be fitted with a faster Skylake processor from Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) and a retina display. Apple is expected to give some in-depth insights as to what it has to offer with the new MacBook Pro. The launch event is expected to take place tomorrow, October 27.
The new MacBook Pro is not expected to be ready for shipping until 2017. The company is also expected to launch the 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro and the MacBook. It is also not clear whether the launch event will also feature other devices apart from the MacBooks. Apple tech fans expect the firm to reveal a new external display and a new iMac at the launch event.
Apple has traditionally been silent about its devices in the past but the company has recently been leaking images of its products just a few days or weeks before the actual launch. The same has been happening with product launches from other companies.
