Apple: Former US vice president sells 215,437 shares worth $29M (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Albert Gore sold 215,437 Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares worth more than $29 million on Wednesday, according to a Form 4 filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Gore is a member of the iPhone maker’s board. Following the sale, he now owns 230,137 shares of the company.

Gore served as the 45th vice president of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton.

Earlier in the month, he sold 70,000 shares, garnering a gain of about $8 million, CNBC reported. In total, Gore sold more than $37.5 million worth of shares in February.

Gore joined Apple’s board in 2003. He has received periodic stock grants, according to SEC filings dating back to 2007, CNBC reported.

The iPhone maker’s 2017 proxy statement shows that Gore will run for re-election to the board at next Tuesday’s shareholder’s meeting.
