Anonymous Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) Hacker Uses Sarah Silverman’s Account To Attack Hillary Clinton

Acclaimed comedian Sarah Silverman’s Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) account was recently hacked and used to convey negative criticism against Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The hacker took to twitter to link an anti-Hilary video in Silverman’s account including the hashtag #Hillary4Prison. This was after Hillary’s speech at the Democratic National Convention which took place on Monday. The tweet was a shock to Silverman’s 8.6 million supporters because she openly admitted that she will support Clinton during the Monday convention. The comedian was previously a die-hard Sanders supporter but during the recent convention, she stated that Sanders supporters were being irrational by opposing Clinton as the Democratic Party’s chosen nominee.

The Twitter account was hacked by the radical activist group known as Anonymous and posted the phrase “America are you Awakening?” on the comedian’s account in English and Russian. The video whose link was attached to the post made the airwaves in April claiming Clinton had been conducting herself in a dishonest manner and was “practicing Zionism”. The video also accused Hillary of practicing attack politics. It is not yet clear how the hackers gained access to Silverman’s account. However, she quickly reacted within minutes of the hack through a tweet stating that her account has been hacked.

This is not the first time that a famous person’s twitter account has been hacked. Hackers take advantage of accounts owned by influential people to spread propaganda and sometimes malicious messages. Some of the influential people that have been victims of such hacks include Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg and NFL activist DeRay Mckesson.

Silverman has been using her influence to rally the masses on social media and Sanders has been her favorite politician. Despite her bold claim that she will fully support Clinton, Silverman still posted a picture of Sanders rallying the masses at the Democratic National Convention perhaps as a sign of respect to the Vermont politician. She also stated that she will continue to be inspired by Sanders’ ideals, which include heavy government spending at the expense of the private sector.
