Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has launched its Prime membership program in Mexico, according to a new report.
The online retailer will offer unlimited free shipping on more than 20 million items for the price of 449 pesos ($23) for the first year in Mexico. Then the company will increase the fee to 899 pesos ($46), Tech Crunch reported.
Amazon has been operating in Mexico for less than two years. Amazon.com.mx offers millions of items across categories like consumer electronics, kitchen and home items, sports equipment, tools, baby, health and personal care products, jewelry, music, books, movies, software and more.
The online retailing giant also offers its Fulfillment by Amazon service in Mexico.

Mexico is Latin America’s second-largest economy, behind Brazil, with online sales expected to hit $6 billion by 2018, up from $2.9 billion in 2015.
According to the report, the Mexican version of Amazon Prime focuses on offering free shipping along with access to Prime Video.
“Mexico also has the largest Prime eligible selection on day one, and it is the first Latin American launch for Prime as well. In Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puebla and Querétaro, customers can request free 1-day shipping on a select number of qualifying products. In the Mexico City metro area, same-day delivery on thousands of products is also available,” reads the Tech Crunch article.
At the end of 2016, Wal-Mart announced that it would invest $1.3 billion in Mexico to build new distribution centers to support its e-commerce business and physical stores.
The Prime Video is a video-on-demand service.
The online retailer said that it will add “hundreds of popular movies and TV shows” to the Prime Video service. The Prime Video will also feature the company’s original series “Mozart in the Jungle,” which features Mexican actor Gael García Bernal.
Last year, Amazon Video launched worldwide, except for Mainland China, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Crimea.
