Item 8.01 Other Events.

As previously disclosed, AK Steel Corporation (the “Company”) and the United Autoworkers, Local 600 (“UAW Local 600”), which represents approximately 1,160 employees at Company’s Dearborn (MI) Works, agreed to extend the expiration of their labor contact from March 31, 2017 to May 31, 2017. (“Labor Agreement”). On May 31, 2017, the Company and the UAW Local 600 agreed to continue to negotiate in good faith to reach a new labor agreement, and that the parties shall proceed to operate under the terms and conditions of the Labor Agreement.

AK Steel Holding Corporation is an integrated producer of flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steels and tubular products through its subsidiary, AK Steel Corporation (AK Steel).
