Google is rumored to be working on the next update of the Pixel smartphone. The company is expected to release the Pixel 2 in the second half of this year.
Rick Osterloh, senior vice president of hardware at Google, had Android Pit that the second-generation Pixel is in the pipeline. He did not provide any specific information about the next update but said that tech world “can count on a successor this year.”
In this post, we’ve rounded up everything we so far know about the 2017 Pixel.

The update of the Pixel phone is expected to get a curved OLED display. According to a report by Yonhap News Agency, Google will source flexible OLED screens from LG Display.
Reports indicate that Google is working to improve the camera technology in the upcoming Pixel models. 9to5 Google reported that the technology giant is planning to master low light photography. The publication was told by sources (maybe within the company’s supply chain) the camera in the 2017 Pixel won’t “have large MP size” but rather will “compensate in extra features.”

The 2017 Pixel is said to feature IP 67 and IP 68 waterproof certifications. That means the phone will be able to submerge in water depths of under 1 meter to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
The Pixel 2 will run Android O, the latest version of Google’s Android mobile operating system. We expect some new features in the Pixel 2.
According to rumors, Google is considering to ditch the headphone jack in the Pixel 2. The internet giant could replace the headphone jack with a single USB-C port, according to a report by 9to5Google.
Google might launch three four Pixel models this year. Reports suggest that the company is testing three phones – the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL and a larger device code named Taimen (it could be a tablet). At the same time, the search engine giant is reportedly building a lower-price smartphone, the Pixel 2B, aimed at emerging markets.
