(NASDAQ:WIN) has revealed that it has been selected by a major player in building supplies to offer UCaaS – Unified Communications as a Service and SD-WAN solutions in order to enhance the productivity and connectivity of 3,500 employees who are spread across Canada and the United States.
The SD-WAN Concierge service which the building supplier picked is a solution that is fully managed. In order to guarantee the best experience and performance it comes with proactive and personalized guidance from a dedicated technical service manager. With the SD-WAN solution, the design and management of networks belonging to business organizations is being transformed. It is offering customers optimized performance, seamless scalability and increased network agility besides cutting costs.
One platform
The UCaaS solution that the building supplier is implementing ensures that network and voice communications technologies are integrated on one platform. Real-time communication amongst employees as well as between the building supplier and its customers using unified messaging applications, desktop sharing, video and web conferencing, collaboration and mobility, presence management, instant messaging and voice will also be improved.
Initially Windstream had been contracted to offer in four locations SD-WAN services as a trial. This has now been extended to 25 more locations and there are plans to roll out the service to 185 other locations thereby ensuring that all the building supplier’s locations are covered.
Superior technology
“This is another example of Windstream partnering with the customer to find the best solution for their unique needs which in this case is our managed SD-WAN service with a single management portal,” Windstream’s chief marketing officer and executive vice president, Joseph Harding, said.
Compared to the traditional WAN technology, the SD-WAN solution offered by Windstream is superior because it enjoys reduced latency and less downtime. And besides being cost-effective an SD-WAN solution is more controllable and flexible. This is because the solution offered by Windstream makes use of dynamic WAN selection in order to route traffic intelligently with a view to reaching multiple locations.
On Thursdays shares of Windstream Holdings Inc rose by 2.99% to close the day at $2.07.
