Instead of a mouse that has been used since the days of Windows 7, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) took the undertaking of added touch support. Given the demand for enhanced products, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is rumored to be taking the same route for its MacOS. The iPhone maker is said to have filed a patent for a possible future design as it continues to explore the idea of creating a 2-in-1 device.
The patent illustrates the bringing together of an iPhone or an iPad as an accessory for a Macbook.
But touchscreen ‘laptops’ could happen easily if iOS grew up into Apple’s laptop operating system
Apple has been making considerable investments in the way it designs the ARM chips iPads use. On the other hand, it has not hand away from terminating any of its operations that are not worth of its investment. However, the company says it is likely to stop using ARM SoCs in 15month’s to two years’ time.
The tech giant estimates there is also the possibility of upgrading the OS of older phones even though they may not stand the latest version of hardware support. This explains why Apple is willing to let go of its customers who are only interested in powerful machines instead of that which fits the sleek system it will be creating.
But Apple doesn’t just gamble on unfinished components
Many people may tend to view the iPad Pro as a replacement for a notebook or a desktop. However, while it is known that Apple is still making Intel Macs, another speculation has it that it has expressed its interest in Intel’s 3DX Point memory.
Apple is keen on its final product to its consumers and will not take any risk on unfinished components. Nonetheless, the company may have mocked touchscreen PCs earlier on but apparently, the devices are being embraced in the market. This could be another reason as to why Microsoft is adding ARM servers to Azure.
In the meantime, Apple’s stock closed at $144.77 witnessing an increase of $1.07 or 0.74%.
