T-Mobile US Rg (NASDAQ:TMUS) Complains About Rivals Killing Its Network Speeds

T-Mobile US Rg (NASDAQ:TMUS) is unhappy because AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) and Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) are interfering with its network speeds. Neville Ray, the T-Mobile CTO while recently speaking to a number of top news reporters disclosed that AT&T’s and Verizon’s expansion of the unlimited data plans is impacting the provider negatively. For some time now it has stifled the network speeds of T-Mobile, a matter that affected the provider’s business immensely.

A nosedive in megabits per second (Mbps) for both AT&T Inc and Verizon Communications Inc happened to coincide with the unveiling of their new unlimited offerings during the Q2 2017.Some renowned analysts have been speculating over the matter. They outlined that the two networks must have in one way or the other been strained by the recent rise in data consumption.

Sources indicate that Verizon plummeted to the third position after it made the move to start providing its unlimited plan while AT&T clinched second position. In the meantime, T-Mobile’s network remains unrivalled in the first place showcasing remarkable download speed as well as LTE availability in the US. This was confirmed by Ray who used the Ookla data as his point of reference.

The Q2 2017 saw the carrier move up to speeds of about 27 Mbps. It goes without saying that indeed the overall success associated with the strategy of T-Mobile was a major revelation. It proved that any smaller company had the ability to fly past any top competitor and disrupt the markets.

At the moment, the adoption of tablets and smartphones in the US is almost approaching saturation. The various carriers have started wild fights over the same subscriber base. It is indeed true that the offerings of T-Mobile have slowly been leveraging on their appealing nature to disrupt the customer base of AT&T and Verizon according to Yahoo.

While speaking to journalists recently, a top analyst said, “While retaining customers is important for Verizon and AT&T, their focus has moved to new growth drivers, like the Internet of Things (IoT) and video delivery.”
