T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS) Now Offering Premium Device Protection Plan

The T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS) premium phone protection program has been enhanced. The company has confirmed the inclusion of AppleCare on its iPhone or iPad devices at no additional charge. The Premium Device Protection program covers quite a number of problems likes accidental damage, theft or loss among others.

Here is what must be known about T-Mobile’s AppleCare

Those who are prone to losing their devices may consider this program worth an investment. While this may come with a deductible charge of $175, the JUMP! will cost $12 per month. However, there is an allowance of upgrading to new devices and at one’s convenience notwithstanding a year limitation.

The program will also offer a  24/7 priority access to AppleCare technical support and this can be done either by phone or chat. It will also come with two screen replacements at a cost of $29 a piece. Those who are not enrolled in the program will have to part with between $129-$149 to replace their screens.

But what are competitors offering?

Having extra protection for a longer period goes a long way for many consumers. T-Mobile has complimentary AppleCare+ services, which more or less differentiate it from other carriers. The JUMP! could apparently become more attractive, winning more customers.

However, the carrier is not alone in the AppleCare services because Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) is also in the market on its own products. However, the iPhone maker offers it as an additional option alongside hardware repair coverage. On the other hand, the purchase of an Apple device comes with a 90-day regular AppleCare support.

The new move by T-Mobile comes at a time when many carriers are in competition to keep their loyal customers and at the same time win the interest of new ones. It now remains to be seen what else the competitive market will be offering. Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s stock closed at $64.22 witnessing an increase of $0.05 or 0.08%.
