Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure

In its Current Report on Form 8-K filed on May 19, 2017, Southwestern Energy Company (the “Company”) described the settlement of litigation regarding the deductibility of certain costs in calculating royalties, which has been pending final approval in the Circuit Court of Conway County, Arkansas. Despite this pending settlement, the federal court in one of the other class actions against the Company and certain of its subsidiaries, most recently described in the Company’s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended March 31, 2017, has begun a trial of that case. Following the selection of the jury in the litigation before the federal court, the settlement before the Circuit Court of Conway County has been terminated to the terms of the settlement agreement.
