The Galaxy S8 feature a bezel-less, dual-edge display that takes up more than 80% of the phone’s front screen.

Samsung ditched the physical Home button in the Galaxy S8. The company embedded the invisible Home button underneath the screen functions.

On the Galaxy S8’s back side, we have a camera, a fingerprint scanner, and a heart rate sensor.

The Galaxy S8 features the Infinity Display, which is 18% larger than the display of the Galaxy S7. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, giving protection against scratches and external impacts.

Camera

The Galaxy S8 has a 12MP F1.7 rear camera, with dual-pixel sensor technology and fast autofocus to take beautiful photographs even in low-light conditions.

The 8MP F1.7 front camera comes with enhanced autofocus features and facial recognition technology.

The Galaxy S8 comes with an advanced camera, which offers multi-frame image processing. This technology allows the camera to take multiple photos in rapid succession instead of just one, then selects the clearest image and uses the others to reduce the blur. The image processing technology ensures that shots taken when the subject is moving, in low light or when zoomed in are clear and vibrant.

Bixby, Samsung’s New Voice Assistant

The Galaxy S8 features Bixby, Samsung’s new voice assistant designed to compete with Apple Siri, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, and Microsoft Cortana.

Samsung said that Bixby is designed to “enhance the way people interact with their Galaxy S8. It “leverages contextual awareness to learn users’ habits and provide related information.” It can be activated with a press of its dedicated hardware button or by saying “Bixby.”

Samsung DeX

Samsung DeX is new service that lets users use their Galaxy S8 as they would a desktop. Using DeX, users can access apps, browse the web, send messages and more directly from their phone on a larger display without having to carry multiple devices or transfer data. DeX also supports keyboard and mouse gestures.

Security

The Galaxy S8 comes with Samsung’s Knox security platform and a fast iris scanner. It also features new fingerprint scanning and facial recognition capabilities.

In addition, the Galaxy S8 features various security services, including Secure Folder and Samsung Pass.

Secure Folder is an encrypted folder that keeps private information separate and safe with an added layer of security, while Samsung Pass lets users easily log into mobile banking apps and websites on the Samsung Internet Browser using biometric authentication.

The Galaxy S8 will be available in five colors: Midnight Black, the all-new Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, and Maple Gold. The phone will be released on April 21.
