Nokia Corp (ADR)(NYSE:NOK) Incorporates Withings Products Into Its E-Health Re-Launch

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last weekend had a huge turnout.  Of the many in attendance was Nokia Corp (ADR)(NYSE:NOK), which has made some headlines recently. It is now back to innovation with its push for inclusion of e-health products into its portfolio.

The acquiring of Withings by Nokia last year was to set a pace for entry into consumer e-health. The French company is a smart device maker for activity-tracking watches, smart scales, and wellness monitoring devices. After all its efforts, the Finnish is now ready to re-launch every Withings product with its brand.

Nokia brand rebound

There is a notable increase of partnerships of companies in every industry and so is the healthcare industry. Apparently, electronics companies are showing more interest in these partnerships and particularly within the healthcare space.

Nokia is one the progressive companies in regards to innovation and connectivity. VP of Digital Health, Nokia, Cedric Hutchings notes, “With the full power of a brand recognized for trust, reliability, and quality, we will reach more people and impact more lives to help the human family be healthier together.”

Bu Nokia has an additional health initiative

Both Nokia and Withings share a common vision of inspiring people to be in charge of their own health. However, Nokia is also adopting another health initiative; the Patient Care Platform with an aim of creating a cohesive relationship between doctors and patients. The platform is more or less the next-level version of Apple’s Care kit.

Using their smart devices, healthcare professionals can easily and remotely monitor their patients. This will help them manage their patient’s chronic conditions; hence they will not need to make unnecessary office visits and hospitalizations.

The platform is currently under a 69,000-person study in the UK where it is in use by the National Health Service. Meanwhile, Nokia’s stock closed at $5.14 a fall of $0.04 or 0.77%.
