Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Makes Dynamics AX available globally

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced the global launch of Dynamics AX as a service that will be offered on the Azure public cloud.

The updated cloud solution had a two-day global launch on Tuesday and Wednesday though it has been present on the Azure marketplace since February. It is available in 137 regions and with about 40 languages. The launch was particularly hyped up for Australia. John Leonard, the general manager for Microsoft Dynamics Australia stated that the decision to host the cloud solution in Australia was to help clients solve any latency problems. It is also designed to help them keep up with their regulations especially in financial services and the public sector.

Leonard further added that the cloud solution is Microsoft’s flagship resource planning solution that was designed for five major sectors; manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, retail and the public sector. Dynamics AX lets business entities gain access to real-time data on any device and also promotes cloud flexibility through less financial investment and faster deployment time.

Microsoft had previously announced that the release of the cloud solution would take place at the end of 2015 because it would be more integrated with other business services from Microsoft. However the company missed the initial launch window. Microsoft Dynamics ERP technician then revealed that the global launch for Dynamics AX had been pushed to 2016.

Leonard revealed that Microsoft Dynamics will be offered by all existing Microsoft partners in Australia. Microsoft also announced that Citta Design, a furniture and design company based in New Zealand will be among the first companies to adopt the new platform. The New Zealand firm has been going through a cloud-based transformation phase that is expected to be complete by June.

Some of the new features that have been included in Dynamics AX include in-memory analytics, elastic scaling, visual studio integration as well as integration with Team Foundation Server, integration with Cortana and a new user experience for HTML5. Though it will be offered as an Azure PaaS solution, it will still be available for on-premises.
