Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella is writing a book about his life and revealed that its title will be “Hit Refresh.”
HarperCollins Publishers revealed that the book will be launched in November 2017 and will be released under the Harper Business imprint. The book will talk about the Microsoft CEO’s personal journey as well as corporate reinvention and change. The publisher stated that the proceeds from the sale of Nadella’s book will be donated to a corporate charity called Microsoft Philanthropies. The accumulated funds will be pumped into cloud computing projects.
Nadella hinted at plans to write in a different style from what business leaders write. He stated that the book is not a memoir or a guide on how to succeed but more about transformation as described by HarperCollins. The Microsoft CEO made it clear that his vision for the company is to foster transformation with the future in mind. The book will thus address the importance of transformation in industries. The release also states that Nadella will talk about how society will be reshaped by machines and about restructuring in the context of renewable energy.
Nadella is following in the footsteps of former Microsoft CEO and co-founder Bill Gates, who wrote two books during his time as CEO. One of the books that Gates wrote is called The Road Ahead, and more than 2.5 million copies were sold. In his book, Gates talked about what should be expected in the future.
The Microsoft CEO also stated that he is writing the book on behalf of his co-workers, partners and customers. He will, therefore, address every person who uses a Windows PC, or perhaps it is an indication that the book will target everyone.
