Logitech International SA (USA) (NASDAQ:LOGI) has launched a Smart Car Mount as well as a smart app that will allow the users to go hands-free while driving.

What sets this hands-free app apart from the plethora of hands free apps that are currently on the market is the fact that it is affordable. The prices on offer for these products include $60 for the zero touch that is mounted on the air vent and $80 for the controlled app that is voice activated – the dashboard counter trigger.

Among the features that the app will bring to users include the ability to listen to messages, the ability to write message via voice command as well as sending messages via voice command.

Users will be able to control apps that are used to stream music including Waze, Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google Maps and Spotify among others. In addition, the app from Logitech will allow users to get directions to the destination which they are heading as well as being able to share current location with friends and families though Glympse.

The latest move represents a calculated approach by Logitech to broaden its scope into a number of different business sectors. Last year in July the company had announced a new sub brand that resonated well with Logitech’s products. Recent moves by the company have seen it expand its business from just selling PC accessories and peripherals. The company now sells accessories for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPads, and life-logging coupled with home monitoring cameras.

President and CEO of the company Bracken Darrell, has hinted that the company is currently working on around six or seven new product lines. Of importance; however, is the fact that the app will only be available for Android phones within the US.
