Huawei Enlists The Help Of AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) In Cracking The US Market

As the Smartphone market grows, tech firms continue to push for a larger share and true to this; Huawei has scooped position three in the world. The company now comes behind the market bigwigs; Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX:005935) having been able to get some of its devices the likes of the Huawei Mate 9 on store shelves in the United States. However, this was not a mean feat and it had to seek the help of pre-paid carriers.

Fighting to have access to the United States’ customers 

The Chinese Smartphone maker has been quite for a while perhaps trying to strategize on how to access the US market. At some point, it eyed a partnership with Google in hopes of getting it’s for the Nexus 6P into the market. Its goal is to have all wireless carriers sell its devices, which must have undergone the company’s own internal testing of the chipset.

The progress is purposeful and impressive given that the company is yet to have its Chinese products in the US. It is, however, seeking to remedy this situation according to the latest report. The only reason that Huawei is not being felt in the US is because of the market’s inclination for buying Smartphones from carriers hence the reason why the company is after the carrier to stock its products.

Huawei is said to be in talks with AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T)

For sure Huawei will not crack the US market on its own and has engaged AT&T, one of the major U.S. carriers. It is seeking to have the giant telecom sell one of its phones that are powered by one of its in-house developed Kirin chipsets. However, before any negotiation between the two, the Kirin chipset must get AT&T’s accreditation.

The reviewing of the mobile phone chipset is one of the early steps in the process of due diligence that is likely to have Huawei access the American store shelves. While there may not be immediate news about AT&T and Huawei, it is clear that Huawei is not giving up on its plans to enter the US market.
