Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Beats X wireless earbuds are set for release on February 10 and will be priced at $149.95. With every purchase of the wireless earbuds, buyers will get a free subscription to Apple Music for three months. This will apply to existing subscribers of Apple Music too.

Buyers required to register

The free subscription to Apple Music for three months is also being offered on every purchase of Powerbeats 3 wireless earbuds and the Beats Solo 3 headphones. To get the promo code, interested individuals will need to register their purchase online on the official website of Beats.

The price of $149.95 effectively means that the Beats X wireless earbuds are cheaper than the AirPods by about $10. But the free subscription to Apple Music ensures that buyers will be getting that at a price that is approximately $40 cheaper since an Apple Music subscription for three months costs about $30.

Both the Airpods and the Beats X earbuds use the same W1 chip, the one feature that gives them their quick-pairing ability via Bluetooth. The Beats X earbuds are not restricted to Apple products and can be used with Android devices though a lightning cable will be required to charge them.

Semi-wireless earbuds

However, in contrast to the AirPods, the Beats X earbuds are not fully wireless as they are connected by a cable which is meant to be wrapped around the neck. But they are wireless in the sense that they connect to the smartphone they are being paired to via Bluetooth.

Unlike the AirPods, however, the Beats X earbuds don’t possess the automatic on/off function of Apple-branded wireless earbuds. They are also not sweatproof. The Beats X earbuds will offer 8 hours of battery life. Five minutes of charging will equip these earbuds with two hours of battery life.

According to reviewers, one advantage the Beats X earbuds have is that they possess better bass and noise isolation.
